Product Description

PM Splitter is an optical device also known as Polarization Splitter. It is used to divide the input polarized light signal into two output channels, usually called the primary branch (major axis) and the secondary branch (minor axis).

The main function of PM Splitter is to distribute the input polarized light signal to the main branch and the secondary branch according to a certain beam splitting ratio, and to keep the polarization state of the optical signal consistent. The main branch and the sub-branch usually have different transmittances. The main branch has a higher transmittance and the sub-branch has a lower transmittance.

PM Splitter is usually composed of special optical devices, such as polarization gratings, fiber gratings or waveguide devices. These devices can split an optical signal into two different branches based on its polarization state while keeping the polarization direction of the optical signal unchanged.

Product Application

– Optical fiber communication system: This product can be used for optical signal distribution and routing in optical fiber communication systems. It can divide the input polarized optical signal into two output channels and is used to distribute the optical signal to different optical fibers or optical fiber channels. In optical fiber communication systems, PM Splitter is often used in optical fiber networks, optical fiber distributed sensing systems, optical fiber transmission systems, etc.

-Fiber optic sensor system: This product has important applications in fiber optic sensor systems. It can be used to divide the input optical signal into primary branches and secondary branches to achieve separation and distribution of optical signals. This is critical for signal processing and measurement in fiber optic sensor systems, such as fiber optic grating sensors, fiber optic gyroscopes, and fiber optic pressure sensors.

-Optical measurement and interference: This product is commonly used in optical measurement and interference systems, such as interferometers, optical interferometers, optical interferometry and optical coherence tomography, etc. It can divide the input polarized light signal into two branches for optical path selection, interference measurement and signal processing. In these applications, PM Splitter plays a key optical distribution and control role.

– Optical laboratories: This product is also widely used in research and development in optical laboratories. It can divide the input optical signal into two branches for distribution and control of optical paths. In laboratories, PM Splitter is often used in the assembly, debugging and performance testing of optical systems.

Product Features

(1) Polarization maintenance: This product can maintain the polarization state of the input optical signal consistent. It divides the input polarized light signal into two output channels while keeping the polarization direction of the light signal unchanged. This is important for applications where the polarization properties of the optical signal need to be maintained.

(2) High coupling efficiency: This product can achieve efficient optical signal coupling and distribution. It can effectively distribute the input optical signal to the main branch and the secondary branch to realize the splitting and multiplexing of the optical signal. High coupling efficiency ensures accurate transmission and distribution of optical signals.

(3) Stability and reliability: This product has good stability and reliability. It is precisely manufactured and calibrated to ensure stable performance over time. This is very important for long-term operation and critical applications.

(4) Wide operating wavelength range: This product has operating characteristics of a wide wavelength range and is suitable for optical signals of multiple wavelengths. This gives it greater flexibility and applicability in different optical applications.

(5) Low insertion loss: This product has low insertion loss, that is, the energy loss is small when the optical signal is distributed from the input channel to the output channel. This helps ensure high transmission efficiency and low signal attenuation of optical signals.

(6) Customizable: This product can be customized and designed according to specific application requirements. Different beam splitting ratios can be selected according to needs, such as 50:50 or other ratios; it can also be customized according to requirements such as wavelength range, coupling efficiency and insertion loss.
